Kazakhstan: World Press Freedom Day 2014: Media Freedom for a Better Future

Adil Soz Foundation in partnership with the UNESCO Office in Almaty, ATRICLE19, United Nations Information Office in Kazakhstan, IFEX Network and Internews Kazakhstan celebrated World Press Freedom Day 2014. The day was dedicated to Media Freedom for a Better Future: Shaping the Post-2015 Development Agenda.
100 media outlets, non-governmental and international organizations, government agencies, educational institutions (KazNU, Turan, KIMEP and other universities) invited participate in the event.

The agenda includes film about journalism safety in Kazakhstan media freedom observations by experts and international partners, Art-i-shock theater performance based on the Adil Soz press freedom monitoring.

World Press Freedom Day 2014 focuses on three interrelated themes: the importance of the media in development; Safety of Journalists and the rule of law; as well as the stability and integrity of journalism.

Place: to Caesar cinema, Almaty, 18:30-21:00, free admission.
